OLA Juniors Help with Breast Cancer 3 Day - see the slide show!

The 5th grade Girl Scouts from Our Lady of the Assumption (OLA) Parish performed community service at  the Breast Cancer 3 Day Event by participating in the Camp Angels Program.  This volunteer program gave the girls an opportunity to perform vigorous, but satisfying physical labor in support of the 3-Day walkers.  Fourteen OLA Juniors worked hard helping to set-up 1500 bright pink tents, and cheering on the exhausted walkers as they finished day one of the 60 mile journey.  Troop Leader Karen Mujica said "This experience was very empowering for the girls, because they witnessed first hand thousands of women working together for a common goal.  It is a fine way to teach these young girls that we as women are not powerless...that we can work together and fight for a cure."  For more information and to find out about additional volunteer opportunities, please visit the Breast Cancer 3 Day website: http://www.the3day.org/

Trips

When planning a trip, start with Safety- Wise!  It is the main source of information regarding what type of activities troops can participate in and at what age or level.  The Council Guide for Volunteers and our Troop Trip Information page can also help you determine what kind of forms you need to have for a trip.

New E-mail address, announcements or submissions?

We would like to highlight your projects.  If you have pictures or something to submit, we can use them in the Dunwoody Data or on our website.  Check out our photo album.  Send your photo submissions to Alisa.  Or submit announcements here.

Please check your email at check-in and note any changes or e-mail Alisa with changes. We can also send to both your home and work, if you want to make sure that you don't miss anything. If you would like to submit troop photos or other items to be included on the website or in the Dunwoody Data click here.
